For digitization purposes, album pages refer to scrapbook pages that measure 12"x 12". Anything smaller or larger is considered a flatbed scan. This differentiation is important because extra adjustments are required during the scanning process for items outside the 12"x12" size.

In traditional scrapbooking, jeeping refers to the plastic borders on either end of the page. These serve to protect the edges of your pages and keep the plastic page protectors in place. When opting to have your pages scanned, you can choose whether you want the jeeping included in the final scan. However, it's worth noting that including the jeep can sometimes create an optical illusion of being crooked, even if the page itself is straight. Due to the challenge of applying jeeping perfectly evenly on both sides, slight discrepancies can trick our eyes into perceiving an angle in the scan. If you decide against including the jeep in your scans, rest assured that we still scan the entire page. Our editors then meticulously crop the pages to ensure nothing is cut off and that they appear perfectly straight.

The price of digitizing an album page covers one side of your scrapbook pages. So, when totaling up your album pages, remember to count both sides of every page you want scanned. All album pages are scanned at 300 DPI, which is the industry standard for printed photo books. However, you can request to have your pages scanned at 600 DPI for more detailed scans, at an increased cost from $2.50 to $5.00 per scan (minus any applicable discounts). Additionally, during the editing process, we crop the scans to remove extra white space and ensure the pages are perfectly straight before approving them for uploading. Page Protectors may be left on the pages if the protector is perfectly flat with no wrinkles. Keep in mind that even the smallest wrinkle or scratch may show up on the completed scan. If your page includes any 3-dimensional embellishments, then it is recommended to remove the page protectors to eliminate any chance of a glare.
