Pixie Power Minute Video: Masked Corners

Objective: Use the Shape Cutter, Lines and mask elements to create decorative edges on your pages.

Video Notes:

1. Add a photo or photo arrangement on the page

   1. • This can be 1 or more photos
   2. • You can start with a template

2. Add a mask to the page

   1. • Position in any corner of the photo arrangement
   2. • If you are unable to see the photo/photo holder beneath the mask use the elements panel to position the mask beneath the photo

3. Fill the mask element

   1. • A patterned paper is recommended

4. Cut the mask element

   1. • With mask element selected go to Cut> Cutters> Shapes
   2. • Position the rectangle cutter to frame out an area at least ¼ inch from the edge of the photo arrangement
   3. • Keep the appropriate area > Cut

5. Add a line to frame to cut area of the mask element

   1. • Click each ruler to add ruler markers to each of the rulers to frame the cut area on the mask element
   2. • Go to Insert> Other> Line> Straight Line or path
   3. • Use the ruler markers as a guide to add a finishing line on the inside of the mask element
   4. (3 points are needed to create a corner. The start and end points should be at least one inch away from the mask element)
   5. • Format the line as desired
   6. • Add a Start line cap and an End line cap
   7. • Click Create

6. Add shadows and embellish masked corner as desired
