It is amazing what you can do using cutting tools, shadows, and a splash of color. Use the techniques in this video to create a special page or project. Objective: Use the Text shape cutter, Custom cutter, Eraser, Color Wash and Hue to create a page where text and a subject pops out from the photo.

Extract a subject from your photo using the cutting tools. Be sure to copy (do not cut) the element from the photo. This will be your pop out.
Add a Custom Shadow to the pop-out
With the main photo selected, use the Text Cutter to copy the word or phrase you desire.
- There is no need to put a space between letters if you are using one word.
With the text selected, use the Outliner tool to create a live shape of your text.
Position the new shape beneath the text, but above the photo.
Edit the Stroke on the Outliner shape as desired.
Add a Custom Shadow to the Outliner shape
Optional: Select the text and use the straight cutter to cut apart the letters. Be sure to keep both areas and cut.
Apply a color treatment to each letter.
Apply a Mask to the main photo
Add subtitles, journaling or any other enhancements to finish off your design.
