Text shapes get a makeover when you use the embedded image and the paper rip straight edge cutter to layer papers with torn edges. **Objective:** Use embedded images and the paper rip cutter to create the look of torn text letters in titles.

Insert ribbon > Text > Shape.
Type, format, and size your text. Suggestion: Choose a thick, chunky font for best results.
Click Create.
On the Operations Panel, go to Content > Paper.
With the text shape selected, fill it with a paper you like.The shape is now an embedded image, and we want to access it.
To do that, right click > edit image. The embedded image is the same size and aspect ratio as the text shape's bounding box, and it has its own workspace and elements panel.
Insert ribbon > Shape > Rectangle
Make the rectangle the same size as the bounding box of the embedded image.
Remove the stroke and click Create.
Fill this rectangle with a paper that coordinates with the other paper used.
Cut ribbon > Straight > Paper rip
Rotate the cutter diagonally and format as desired. Keep the appropriate area and cut.
Format ribbon > Custom shadow. Apply a shadow in an upward direction.
Repeat above steps, using a different coordinating paper and rotating the cutter in a different direction. Apply an upward shadow and save.Important note: Make sure your torn papers look the way you want them to BEFORE closing the embedded image. Once you have saved and closed the embedded image, those elements are flattened and changes cannot be made.
Close the embedded image.
Remove or edit the stroke applied to the text shape and shadow as desired.
